I would start by using some paper towels with some general household spray cleaner like ''Mr Clean'' or ''Fantastic''. Don't use this on your screen or trackpad. If you have ink or tape residue I would use orange oil to remove. for very tough dirt you may need to use a fresh pink pencil eraser which is still soft don't rub to hard as you will leave marks. Be careful with the screen & trackpad as they can be fogged or scratched with the wrong cloths & cleaners.

Once you have your system clean you can try polishing. The metal outer shell is aluminum so you could use a metal polish to buff it down. The plastic shell parts maybe to marked up to polish with a soft abrasive. You might think about replacing these parts depending on where they are.
The key caps can be replaced and the trackpad likewise can also be replaced (a bit of work though).
