If err99 appears during damp conditions, remove lens blow on contacts on both body and lens, and problem should be solved. to avoid this keep camera in a sealed plastic bag for aprox 10 minutes when leaving a heated room / car into cold conditions, this lets the camera acclimatise to the conditions and usually avoids the problem.
