-Before you can install the latest system update you must get WiFi functioning. There are several different causes for this problem so there are several different methods that may restore WiFi connectivity. Use the following steps and check WiFi functionality after each. Once WiFi connection works, check for updates by selecting Apps, Settings, About Tablet, and System Update.

-1.Disable and re-enable WiFi using the following steps:

-1.Select Apps, Settings, Wireless & networks, and then select Wi-Fi to remove the checkmark and disable it.

-2.Power off the tablet.

-3.Power on the tablet.

-4.Select Apps, Settings, Wireless & networks, and then select Wi-Fi to add the checkmark and re-enable it.

-2.Perform a hardware reset using the following steps:

-1.Power on the A500.

-2.Use a small, thin object, such as a paperclip, to press the recessed reset button located on the bottom of the tablet.
-
-3.If done correctly, the tablet will power off and restart.
-
-4.Once the tablet is back at the login screen, repeat this procedure again.

-3.Perform a factory data reset or download and install the workaround patch. Factory data reset will erase all of your personal information, all stored contacts and any programs you have installed on your tablet. If you are not concerned about losing data, use this option. If you do have data you are concerned about you should download and install the workaround patch.

-Note: A microSD card is required to perform these steps.

-1.In your Internet browser of choice, navigate to our Acer Product Support page.

-2.In the Select Your Product section, click the icon that represents your product.
-
-3.A new window will pop-up. In the Select Line section, choose the line that represents your product link.
-
-4.In the Select Model section, choose the model that represents your product.
-
-5.In the Operating System pull down, select Android 3.1 Honeycomb.
-
-6.Navigate to the Patch tab and download the Acer ICONIA TAB A500 'connect Wi-Fi unsuccessfully' patch.
-
-7.Unzip the file you downloaded to your hard drive. A pdf file and an update.zip will be extracted Do not unzip the Update.zip file.

-8.Format your microSD card using a FAT or FAT32 format.
-
-9.Copy Update.zip to the empty microSD card.
-
-10.Ensure the tablet’s battery is fully charged.
-
-11.Power off your A500 tablet.
-
-12.Insert the microSD card into the A500 tablet.
-
-13.Press and hold the "Volume Down" key (closest to the Power key) then press and hold the "Power" key
+check the options, maybe the system is rebooting
