This issue happens with me a lot. I just follow these steps to connect via wifi.

(Apps--> settings --> wireless and networks --> wifi ) then turn it off.

Restart the tablet

and then do the same thing (Apps--> settings --> wireless and networks --> wifi )and re-enable wifi.
