Screen contrast too high after power supply repair

Hi,
After a recent power surge that blew my power supply (iMac completely dead) I took the power supply to a local repair guy who repaired the power supply. The iMac now starts up and works perfectly except the fact that the screen is very washed out as if the contrast is set too high.
I have calibrated the display, logged in using different user profiles, even booted from a second boot device but the problem is always the same.
Has anyone seen this before? Could it be that since the repair one of the output voltages is too high and overdriving the screen somehow?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
