Title:

water damaged iPhone memory recovery

Text:

I had a complete dumb moment and went into the pool in my clothes on a very hot summer day(AUS) without remembering my phone in my pocket. It was submerged about ten seconds, completely filled with water I think. It's been dried out as much as I can without taking it apart. I know I should've been regularly backing it up but I almost never touch my laptop and the two weeks before my dumb moment I'd misplaced my charger for it so I hadn't even been able to turn it on. Context aside.

I don't think I'm still covered for a replacement phone, and honestly I was still very happy with my 5s. I was wondering if any repair types know if it's possible to recovering the memory from he phone in some way?

Eg taking it to a repair tech and having them pull certain parts(I know it's memory is integrated somehow but I don't know the specifics about what water could do to different bits) and put them into a working frame I guess? Though I'm aware this may rightly cost a bit I've basically got most of my life on this thing so I'm hoping instead of spending money on a cheap and nasty replacement I'm hoping I can recover it's brains.

Or am I screwed in terms of anything not available via the cloud(not much because I didn't use the cloud because I had/have a 64gb phone and didn't think I'd ever be so bloody dumb)

It sat in the hot sun and got shaken out water wise, I left it to dry out for a few days before trying to charge it, and after 12hrs charging there was still no signs of life. So it seems very dead to the world(though it might be the buttons not communicating with the rest or god knows what I don't)

Thank you in advance.
