Update : so far none of the fixes worked though taking out my Samsung 64GB MicroSD and reboot solved the problem. Once the microSD was reinsert, the problem was gone until a few minutes later came back turning on the phone, lower half green and flickering.

Update 2: Got this fix from official Samsung S5 forums. Just had to turn off airview (under settings->motion tab) seems to have solved the problem permanently, even with autodim turned on and brightness turned to low. Likely this helps lower the total current requirement to the screen giving the AMOLED pixels a boost. So there is some need for certain amount of current going to the screen which has been made worse by the 6.0.1 update.

None of the other fixes worked except for the microSD card removal. Suspect removal of microSD card also boosts the available current to the screen, but Airview and motion sensor takes more power from the screen since that sensor likely draws power from the same circuit as the screen.
For me it was my new Samsung EVO 64GB microSD card. Apparently after the new update to Marshmallow, the screen started flickering at low light and with autodim on. Turned off phone, took it out and reboot, problem gone.

Then turn it off, put microsd card back in again and problem didnt come back fixed!

Phone was updated to 6.0.1/cache&hard reset/GPU overlay and all other fixes tried which did not solve the problem other than switching off autodim but even then at low light it still flickered. thanks @Shayen George
