Title:

Overheating error, whirring sound help

Text:

My Time Capsule (from May 2016) has started to have an audible whirring noise about every 5 seconds that is low but new, with a slow blinking amber light that the Airport Utility comments that "this device may be overheating." Every few minutes, there will be a louder grinding noise and occasionally a high pitch screeching noise that lasts for 10-15 seconds (reminiscent of a small version of Stranger Things creature screech or like a scratchier wineglass wet rim sound). The device does not feel warmer than usual, but I definitely have never noticed any sounds before from the Time Capsule until the last few days.

The device appears to still work in terms of Wifi. I've unplugged and plugged it back in, did a hard reset, blown out the various holes with compressed air to no avail. I have now taken the bottom cover off and tried all that as well with no improvement. Any suggestions?
