This just happened to me as well, opened the back to find them stuck all over the motherboard, No wonder it wouldn't turn on! after removal  it required a battery charge then worked find after that.

turns out we had 2 of them so i opened the 2nd one and found the 4 magnets along the left side of the case.  i think if you drop it maybe(maybe) it protects it from damage or something :)
