digitizer dead zone after removing and reinstalling

I recently removed and reinstalled my digitizer and now the entire side with the with the volume button does not work. It is a very small area up and down that entire side that is dead. If I bring up the key board and turn that side to be the bottom the space bar and all keys to the left and right of the space bar do not work. As i rotate the device those buttons will work but any button in that dead zone will not work. I dont see any damage to the digitzer ribbon cable but I am wondering if something else could be the issue. I can email someone pictures or give more info as needed.

P.S. it is for work and for those wondering, I had a good reason to need to open it up.
