The newer laptops do not use inverters anymore as they all use LEDs now that are built into the panel. The LCD connector on the logic board is what drives backlight power to the LEDs in the screen. Most likely you have a blown backlight IC or filter on the logic board and only be able to repair with schematic experience and board level
