Hi @andrewifix
-The headphone socket may be damaged and will have to be replaced as it cannot be repaired.
+The headphone socket may be loose on the pcb or it may even be damaged. If it is damaged then it will have to be replaced as it cannot be repaired.
Here’s a link to the ifixit [guide|121484] guide.
It is useful as it shows how to open the laptop so access the the headphone socket is possible. Fortunately the socket is mounted on a separate pcb and not on the motherboard.
Here’s a link to just one [https://www.ebay.com/p/Acer-NITRO-An515-53-55g9-N17c1-Genuine-USB-Audio-Board-W-Cable-Ls-f953p/15020875005|supplier] of the replacement part. It is shown only to give an idea of the cost of the part and what it looks like. There may be other suppliers online that might suit you better. Just search for ''Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53-55G9 USB audio board'' to get results.
If you wish to only replace the socket itself you may have to see if it has any identifying marks on it and then search on places such as [https://www.mouser.com/Connectors/Audio-Video-Connectors/_/N-778ct|here - select phone connectors 3.5mm 1/8 in jack (female)] and see if they have the exact part. Good luck with that though ;-)
