My son’s switch had a black screen after sitting idle for a month while he was away during summer break. It would not take a charge, or so it seemed, but the LCD light turned on and off when we docked the console.
I checked all the obvious solutions and read solutions to the above posted question. Then followed the link to Nintendo’s website hoping to read about a recall all to no avail.
-Fortunately, I read an article about the console not charging, a black screens and won’t wake up from sleep mode. D’uh

-It froze in sleep mode, the battery died and a proper reboot is holding down the power button for 12 seconds along with a couple other omfg that’s so simple solutions! And then I’m the ifixit goddess until I explained the problem and solution.
