My Wii Remote sometimes turns on, sometimes does not.

when the remote turns on, it flashes 4 lights then later 3 lights. Once it flashed 4 then 3 then 2 then 1 then turned off. I tried to somehow sync it but doesn't work. I used the remote for 3 years, then after 7 years it doesnt work.
