Title:

P10 Lite Replacement battery not charging

Text:

Recently I ordered a replacement battery for my Huawei P10 Lite to replace my aging and dying battery.
The part I ordered was https://eustore.ifixit.com/products/huawei-p10-lite-p9-p9-lite-honor-8-replacement-battery?variant=32215323213905
After I had replaced the battery and turned it on, everything worked fine and the battery was supplying current to the device, but when I plugged in the charger, the battery didn’t charge. For 1 frame, you could see the battery indicator in the status bar switch to charging, after which it goes back to a non-charging state. The battery would remain supplying power to the device, but wouldn’t charge.
I know the issue is not with the device, since whenever I plugged back in te old battery, that one would still charge fine.
-This has led me to believe the issue is with the battery type.
+This has led me to believe the issue is with the replacement battery.
What I also noticed with regards to the battery, is that the model that was included in the fix kit has “SD-HW-P9PLUS” written on the flex cable to connect the battery, while this model isn’t included in the compatible devices list on the store page.
Furthermore, the flex cable has a different shape/length to the one listed in the store page and the one in my device. (See included pictures.)
What can I do to resolve this issue? Was the battery supplied in te repair kit an incompatible part for my device?
Thanks in advance!
