Wow, what a great tip to use the higher-powered (old-style brick) charger. I had just replaced the HDD in my old 4G iPod photo with a SDD but got stuck at the ‘plug into wall outlet’ icon. Thought she was a goner. Found a 10W brick from old iPhone/iPod and after a couple of cycles of apple icon and progress bar she was good to go. Tips like this are what the internet was made for. Thanks all.
