Try hooking up to external monitor, if still no video then probably the motherboard, the DV9000 has a recall on the AMD Motherboards, they overheat. It will still act like it's booting and the fan will run with a bad mother board, I've replaced several and it's beginning to be not worth it to the consumer, check to see if it's still under warranty too. Also the DV6000 has issues too for all of you that have that model, virtually same MB as the DV9000.
