Battery replacement won’t charge after working

I was able to replace the battery successfully. It worked and was on 34% after the process was completed. Unfortunately, when I went to charge it, it would not charge. I did not hard reset it after the replacement. Now the battery is dead and I am not sure what to do now. Is there anything I could do?
