interconnect cable caused short when connecting to motherboard

Can I still repair my Nintendo Switch? It won't turn on.

I was attempting to replace the fan to my switch lite using this guide : [guide|137369]
While completing step 12 (in the reassembly process) where you slide the interconnect cable into its connector on the motherboard, a short occurred (I thought I smelled something burning, but reassembled anyway. The switch now wont turn on). Other people had this issue and posted comments on the step, but no one has responded to say how to solve it.

Additionally, the hinged locking flap would not come up and ultimately broke off. How necessary is this piece?
How would I repair my switch now?
