After spilling water on my wife's mac Mid 2009, I just also achieved a repair taking off the keyboard and exchanging it for a new one! It took me around four and a half hours but I did it! :) And it was my first time doing a repair in a laptop.
-My only major difficulty is that 2 of the screws refused to get off. So the repair wasn't perfect, but, these 2 now lacking screws aren't visible.

+To facilitate putting back again the screws, I used the magnet of the sub-woofer to magnetise the screwdriver. If not, it is almost impossible to fit the (very) small screws back in place.
