Why won't my MarquisPad charge?

When the MarquisPad is plugged into the wall it will not gain a charge.

Both my kids have this model and they are not taking a charge. After troubleshooting discovered the pns in the power port are damaged from possibly plugging and unplugging the power cord. So the power is not connecting with the device. The replacement piece is about $17 on Ebay.
