My Cannon Powershot waterproof camera got wet and now it will not turn on. Is it worth sending in for repair?

First it would turn on but not recognize the memory card, now it doesn't recognize the battery. I have had it for 11 years, has never leaked.

Its advertised as waterproof. I would request a warranty repair.
