I can't answer my phone.
When I get a call, I see the wave signals and the phone icon, swipe to the right, or tap the phone but I can not answer the call.
Is this a good question?

Your settings may have been changed by the installation of an app . You should go into your setting for phone calls and see how your set to answer calls . Hope this helps

Hi,
Just to add to the answer try starting the phone (you don't say what model it is) in safe mode and then test it on an i/c call.
If it works OK then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem.

Yes , touch & slide upward is done all the time, but still encountering the problem of missed calls

Please elaborate on your comment as to what is occurring?
Do you get calls and answer them but no one is there or do people say that they rang and the call is listed in call history but you didn't hear/feel the phone ring or people say they rang and it didn't ring and also no call registered in call history etc?

My phone was coming up with three phones red , grey in the middle and a green phone on the left. If you press the grey phone and swipe to the green phone it answers the call, or swipe the grey to the red to cancel the incoming call.

You have to swipe up, not sidewards. Than it works

Are you actually touching and holding the green answer icon when sliding it up to answer a call?
Does the touchscreen work in that area of the screen when you are using different apps etc

Yes I'm holding the green for and sliding it up,it just won't answer the phone. The screen works fine for everything else. I just don't get it.

Try starting the phone in safe mode and check if you can answer a call OK.
I think that the procedure is the same for all Alcatel phones. If you can't start in safe mode, search online for "(insert model number of phone) safe mode"
If you can then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one is the culprit.
Incoming Call cannot be answered / when needing to swipe it will hang the incoming call up
