this is what i found searching up your error code on the play station website:

"if this error occurs after launching a game, delete the game in which the errors occurs in from settings>storage and reinstall the game." have you tried uninstalling the PS5 games that are having this issue?

"Start your PS5 in safe mode and perform "5. rebuild database .".

if these fail, backup your ps5 on a usb drive or something like that with enough space to do so, and reset your ps5.

Hi

I’ve had the same issue, bought the console from launch, so had it just over two years now. I had it looked at by a tech engineer and they’ve essentially said the graphics card is damaged, so it will play lower resolution PS4 games as they are less demanding on the system. Unfortunately, the graphics card is part of the motherboard and can’t be replaced, Sony won’t even be able to fix it. I have asked the retailer to replace my console, which they of cause refused to do as it’s out of warranty, but have agreed to a pro-rata refund. The alternative option is to use Sony’s out of warranty service, which costs £240, but they guarantee to give you a working console- if they have a refurbished one then that’s what you get, otherwise they provide a new one. You may need to get someone to independently look at your console and investigate the cause of your fault, but I’ve seen plenty of cases online exactly the same as mine.

Thats not true! PS5 uses an APU if they claimed the graphics card is damaged then ps4 games wont work either! The console wouldn’t even pass POST when you turn it on you will get the constant blue light blinking. PS4 games plays @1080p same as with PS5 games unless you change it in the game settings so whatever tech engineer told you that bullshit needs to go back and retrain the CompTIA A+ certification.

What would you recommend? IS there a solution for this problem? I still experience this every time I attempt to play the "PS5" version of a game.

Rebuild databases, do a clean install of the system, open it up completely all the way down to the motherboard to see if the Liquid Metal needs to be re-spreaded. You can remove that Liquid Metal and replace it with old fashioned thermal paste (that’s what I did with mines). Try not to expose the liquid to any circuit on the board or that’s it! If that doesn’t solve your problem take it to Sony for a repair or replacement.

What about your trophies I know your on ps5 but on ps4 I have at least got all my games that I currently have at 1% if you have any trophies at 0% delete them or play them until you get 1% that fixes an error code so if system reads there's an error all your games are at 1% it's not your games and not the system it will be the current game you download

I have similar pattern on a Launch PS5. PS5 games crash but PS4 games are all fine. Within a random amount of time of booting any PS5 game (disc or digital) I get a CE-108255-1 or a CE-100996-6 error. Will play movies and any PS4 game fine. No PS5 game of any kind works - neither a 100mb 8bit platformer nor Cyberpunk. PS4 versions of identical games load fine.

Have done every version of database rebuild, usb etc. etc. All the copypasta "ReBuiLD your DatAbAsEs" advice is completely useless. Sony's customer support was a bot that kept forgetting what it had just said.

Tried wired/wireless and different network. Tried anon account. Added an NVME drive and booted a game off of that. Tried all possible graphic settings and switches.

Have gone through many system software updates since it started and none have resolved it.

Took it into a shop and had them professionally tear it down and redo liquid metal. They also swapped PSUs to see if it was something in the power supply. No dice.

The idea it's overheating is incorrect: it happens immediately on startup. It may have been a heat issue at one time, but now there is a damaged chip somewhere. Seems likely it's the APU.

I have had five different shops refuse to repair it or troubleshoot it.

Very frustrated. Will be my last Sony console, and I had them all.

Have you tried to choose your ps 5 console as the main console in the PS App?

Have you chosen your Ps 5 system as the main one in the console settings or Ps App? For me it looks like you still have your PS4 system as the main so this is the reason why you can lunch only PS4 versions of the games.
