Screen won't turn on after new display cable / new screen

Hey guys,

I replaced the screen in my girlfriend's S21; the touch was going whacky. In the process of getting the back off of the phone, I cut the display cable with a guitar pick. So I ordered a new one off of Amazon. It is identical to the one that was originally in the phone. Anyway, I put everything back together with the new screen, but I cannot get any picture or touch functionality at all. The screen came from iFixit obviously. What can I do?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @foothand

Does the vibrate motor buzz when you first turn on the phone?

Here's the troubleshooting section from the service manual that may help.

Go to Sect. 8-4-1. Power on, on p.8 (of 67 pdf numbering) and follow the flowchart paths and see how far you get.

Use the search function in your browser e.g. if Win OS use Ctrl + f, and type in the component ID of components shown in the flowchart to find their location on the board layout diagrams in the guide. You will have to zoom in a lot to see them. ;-)

Unfortunately, there's no parts list in the manual so if there's a faulty component it may be difficult to find the correct replacement part.
