AirPods 4 Repair

Released September 20th, 2024 alongside the iPhone 16 lineup, AirPods 4 are as the name suggests: they're Apple's 4th generation of their ever-popular AirPods wireless in-ear headphones; the direct successor to AirPods 3. Two models were launched side-by-side:

• AirPods 4: The basic model, with no active noise cancellation (ANC), no wireless charging support, and no speaker.
• AirPods 4 (Active Noise Cancellation): The more premium model, with ANC, wireless charging, and a speaker.

AirPods 4 are priced at $129 for the basic model and $179 for the ANC model.

The AirPods 4 can be identified by their short, squat case design, hinged on the long edge. The charging LED, when off, is hidden in the plastic case. It has a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port. The headphones themselves are all plastic, and don't use silicone tips like AirPods Pro. AirPods 4 with ANC have four speaker holes on the bottom, whereas models without ANC do not.

Basic and "with ANC" models can be identified by model numbers A3058 and A3059 respectively. The model number is printed inside the charging case's lid.
