Background and Identification

The Casio CTK-3000 is a keyboard marketed towards beginners with 61 keys (5 octaves), 400 instrument sounds/tones, and built-in lessons. The Casio CTK-3000 keyboard was also sold as a premium kit with a stand and headphones. Casio electronic musical keyboards were first manufactured in 1980. Casio electronic keyboards were produced in a wide array of models including Casiotone keyboards (1980 to present), synthesizers (1984-1988), LK series (keyboards with illuminated keys, M series (mini keyboards), P series (petite keyboards), S series (sampler keyboards), and VL series (button keyboards). The CTK-3000 is part of the CTK line of Casiotone keyboards.

The CTK-3000 keyboard features 61 piano-type keys that compose 5 octaves on the keyboard. It also features two different touch-sensitivity levels. It includes 400 built-in tones, many of which are designed to sound like other musical instruments, and 10 types of digital effects, and 150 built-in rhythms. The CTK-3000 model also features 100 built-in songs in its Song Bank. The keyboard has several lesson functions including step-up lessons, a scoring system, and a voice fingering guide (lessons can include just the right hand, just the left hand, or both hands simultaneously). The CTK-3000 model also includes a built-in metronome whose quarter note tempo range can vary between 30 and 255 beats per minute.

The CTK-3000 keyboard features a liquid-crystal display screen and requires six AA-size batteries. It includes a music stand, a standard stereo jack terminal, a USB-C port, and a 9-Volt DC external power terminal.
