Phantom 4 Pro Remote Controller with Built-In Screen

Background and Identification

Phantom is a series of UAVs (or unmanned aerial vehicles) designed and manufactured by DJI, a Chinese technology company. The Phantom 4 Pro was released in November 2016, several months after the Phantom 4 was released in March 2016. The Phantom 4 Pro is the professional version of the fourth generation of the Phantom UAV series.

Compared to the Phantom 4, the Pro has upgraded obstacle avoidance that features five directional sensors. The Phantom 4 Pro also includes two remote controllers (one controller with a dedicated screen for the Phantom 4 Pro+ and one controller without a screen).

The Phantom 4 Pro includes a 5870 mAh “Intelligent Flight Battery” that produces 89.2 Watt-hours of energy. The remote controller includes a 6000 mAh battery. The Pro can be operated from up to 7 kilometers (or about 4.3 miles) in certain modes and under certain circumstances. The Pro is able to take a wider variety of photographs and videos than the original Phantom 4. The Pro also has an improved obstacle sensory range of 2 to 98 feet when compared to the 4’s 2- to 48-foot obstacle sensory range.

The Phantom 4 Pro can be identified by its white quadcopter body and the name “Phantom” in capital letters above the camera gimbal. The Phantom 4 Professional’s remote controller has a white plastic cover with two antennas. It has two joysticks and two buttons for changing settings.
