Paragraph
The Apple Mouse first appeared in 1983 with the original Apple Lisa. Since its birth, the Apple Mouse has experienced numerous upgrades. The Apple Mighty Mouse was released in 2005 and is made of white plastic. It uses a cord to connect to the computer and trackball technology for scrolling. Instead of mechanical buttons, the mouse’s surface is touch-sensitive, meaning pressure in different areas of the top shell triggers different responses. A wireless version of the Mighty Mouse employing Bluetooth technology was released in 2006.
In 2009, Apple changed the name of the Mighty Mouse to Apple Mouse due to legal concerns. This same year, Apple released the Magic Mouse, and the previous model was discontinued. Apple’s Magic Mouse is thinner, longer, and overall sleeker than its predecessor. The trackball scrolling technology was discarded and replaced by a touch-sensitive top shell. Additional touch-sensitive cousins to this original have been released since 2009, including the Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Trackpad 2.
The Apple Mighty Mouse, Magic Mouse, and Magic Mouse 2 are white in color, flat on the bottom, and have a smooth, curved surface. The Magic Trackpad and Magic Trackpad 2 are thin rectangular surfaces. The Magic Trackpad comes in silver, and the Magic Trackpad 2 comes in silver and space gray.
Check for an Apple logo or other information on the bottom of the device.
