The X450 is a 14-inch laptop announced by Asus in 2013. It comes in a large variety of configurations, each of which has a different combination of letters in the model number. For example, model numbers starting with “X450E” seem to have a hot-swappable battery pack. The model X450JF has an SD card reader. You can identify your Asus laptop by finding its model number printed on a sticker on the bottom of the device (see this Asus support article for more information). Despite the myriad of configurations, most models are internally very similar and can be disassembled with the same guides.
The easiest components to repair/upgrade in an X450 laptop are the hard drive and memory. Both parts can be accessed simply by removing a cover on the bottom of the laptop as shown in the first part of this disassembly video on YouTube. Getting to other components requires removing the rest of the back panel.
All models of the Asus X450 feature a 14-inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. To drive this display, the laptop has either integrated Intel graphics or an Nvidia GeForce graphics card.
