With Chromecast, you can access online entertainment on your HDTV—movies, TV shows, music, and more from Netflix, YouTube, Google Play, and Chrome. Chromecast automatically updates to work with a growing number of apps.
The Google Chromecast First Generation was released in 2013 and is manufactured by Google. The model number for this device is H2G2-42. This media player is in the shape of a flash drive which distinguishes it from the newer models. The Google Chromecast First Generation offers 1080p video while the Google Chromecast Second Generation offers 1080p and 4000 ultra HD video. There have not been any recalls associated with this device. This product was discontinued September 29, 2015.
