The Lenovo G570 is a 15.6-inch laptop announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2011. It was released alongside its 14-inch equivalent, the G470. At the time, Lenovo marketed these laptops under the branding of the “Essential series.” This model features a black plastic case. You can identify this device by looking on the bottom of the laptop for a sticker containing the serial number. Enter the digits on Lenovo’s support website to find more detailed information about your model.
The G570 is powered by an Intel processor. It can support up to 16GB of memory, which can be installed in two slots behind a cover as shown in the laptop’s user guide. The standard 2.5-inch drive is also located behind the same cover, allowing easy access. Speaking of which, the battery is removable and held in place by two simple clasps. Ah, sweet repairability!
The laptop also features an optical drive which can read Blu-ray discs. You can pull this out of the side of the laptop once you remove a single screw from the bottom. This procedure is shown again in the user guide. There are also some disassembly instructions in the lengthier hardware manual.
