The iPhone 5s is part of the iPhone line, succeeding the iPhone 5. Apple held an event to formally introduce the phone (and its mid-range counterpart, the iPhone 5c) on September 10, 2013.
Similar to the iPhone 4s, the 5s is a revised version of its predecessor, the iPhone 5, but also incorporates a 64-bit Apple A7 processor, a built-in fingerprint sensor on its updated home button, and runs on the iOS 7 operating system.
Repair of this device is similar to the previous models, and requires screwdrivers and prying tools.
You can identify the iPhone 5s by one of the following model numbers etched into the back case:
A1453
A1457
A1518
A1528
A1530
A1533
The iPhone 5s features a flat glass front with black or white bezels. The back is made from space grey (black bezels), silver (white bezels), or gold (white bezels) anodized aluminum with two glass panels on the top and bottom matching the color of the front bezels. The edges are flat. A SIM tray is situated on the right side, with volume buttons on the left and the wake button up top. An AUX port is located on the bottom beside a lightning charging port.
You can tell it apart from the iPhone 5 by looking at the flash module to the right of the back camera. The 5 will have a circular flash module while the 5s has an oval flash.
