The Canon PowerShot S100 was released in 2011 to be a powerful, but still versatile camera. It is small in size, but has a powerful DIGIC 5 image processor and fast s/2.0 lens for clear images even in low light. The camera has a 5x Optical Zoom for a wide range of photographic opportunities. You may choose to use this camera either in automatic mode, or manual mode for as little or as much control as you are comfortable with.

+
The over all feelings from owners of this model are that the camera takes wonderful pictures, but it is prone to certain mechanical failures. One common problem in this device is a lens error. When owners attempt to use the camera, the lens extends completely, but then will not retract back into the camera.
