== HP EliteBook 820 G3 Troubleshooting ==

=== ***Battery drains fast*** ===

* If the battery is not keeping a charge, or draining quickly, then the battery will need to be replaced. (make a replacement guide)

First, remove the rubber screw covers. Remove the plastic bit in the SD card slot and unscrew the small screw present. After this, you can lift off the plastic casing, revealing the laptop’s components. Remove the screw that holds down the battery.[br]
[br]

=== ***The device does not connect to the Internet*** ===

* ***If the device cannot connect to the Internet, there could be several issues. [br]
You can check the wireless signal before taking further action. You may need to reset the wireless modem or router. It may be necessary to update wireless drivers.  (Make a huuuge page for this one).[br]
[br]
***

=== ***Black screen/ Screen Flickering/ stuck pixels on screen*** ===

* ***If pixels are stuck then rub around the pixel in a circular motion with a soft material. This can lighten up the dead pixel and once it is found hold your finger there for a few minutes.***
* ***For black screen make sure the device is turned on (Led lights on). Try to wake up the display by using Windows key+Ctrl+Shift+B. Connect an external monitor to test display. [br]
[br]
***

=== ***Sluggish Performance*** ===

[br]
***Hardware: hard drive failing, outdated CPU, or lack of storage space***

* ***It may be caused by a missing file on the hard drive or hard disk errors[br]
[br]
***

***Software: malware/adware attack or windows registry errors***

* ***It may be caused by viruses i.e trojan virus which may be contracted from downloaded unofficial games, applications, file sharing sites, and bootlegged movies. To prevent virus infections, use trusted antivirus products, avoid clicking pop-up advertisements, scan email attachments, and avoid downloading files off sketchy websites.***
* ***Having too many applications/website tabs open. To fix this, close tabs that you are not working with***
* ***Insufficient storage. Delete unused applications or purchase more storage for the device.***

=== ***Fan Noises*** ===

* ***May be due to dust accumulation, cleaning may need to be done (make a cleaning guide/tutorial)***

***Guide- To begin the process of cleaning the dust out of the computer, you must first ensure that the laptop is turned off completely and if there are any cables plugged into the laptop, unplug those as well. There should be no electricity running through the computer. From there, turn the computer onto its bottom and begin unscrewing to display the battery. Remove the battery and begin finding the air vents, they should be on the outer edge. Unscrew the panel, open it up and the fan can now be seen underneath. You can now begin the process of cleaning out the dust from the fan!***
