Toasters are small electric kitchen appliances typically used to toast bread, bagels, or other bread products. Toasters work by infrared radiation. When you see the coils inside glow red, they are producing infrared radiation to heat and brown your bread. The amount of browning you wish your toast to receive can be controlled by the length of time your bread spends in the toaster. This can be changed by manually unplugging the toaster when you wish, or by using a browning dial to change how well done your toast is. The Rival 16131, as shown in this guide, has two bread slots, a lever, and browning dial. The device depicted in this guide is red, however that is purely aesthetic. |
