Background

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y710, released on January 22, 2008, is a notebook primarily designed to replace a desktop computer. It features a 17.10 inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels and is powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 processor. This means it's expected to perform slightly lower than an equivalent desktop due to reduced bus clock speeds and slower hard drives.

It comes with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 graphics card, which supports DirectX 10 and competes with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS in laptops. This graphics card allows for the running of some 3D games, though only those with very minimal graphical requirements. The IdeaPad Y710 was Lenovo's initial foray into consumer 17-inch notebooks.
