Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 Repair

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 is another model of the ThinkPad Series Lenovo laptops, focused on the business market. First released in early 2022, the ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 has been widely adopted by users across the globe. Available in all markets, with pricing ranging from $1500 to $2000 USD,

The ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 can be configured with a variety of processors, including Intel 12th Gen and 5th Gen Ryzen chips. The laptop can also have one of three displays, ranging from IPS panels to a 2.8k OLED screen. When it comes to the build quality of this model, Lenovo constructed this model with more than 90% recyclable materials, this includes parts of the laptop's battery, power adapter, and speaker enclosure. Lenovo aimed to combat electronic waste with this product, promoting eco-friendly materials.

While the ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 has generally been well-received, there are a few known issues. In 2023, Lenovo issued a recall (2023 Recall) regarding their USB-C power banks, utilized by this model. This recall addressed potential risks associated with loose screws leading to a short circuit, as well as overheating problems. Additionally, some users have reported sleep/wake issues, where the laptop fails to wake from sleep mode leading to a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). Some users also experience problems when transitioning to suspend mode. These concerns were notably discussed in this Reddit post and many others.

The Thinkpad T14s Gen 3 is a part of the ThinkPad series. A series initially released in 1992 by IBM, which was later acquired by Lenovo in 2005. The ThinkPad series has evolved with each generation, bringing incremental updates in performance, design, and efficiency. The Thinkpad T14s Gen 3 is an overall upgrade from the previous Gen 2 model, offering newer processor choices and up-to-date configurations. Its successor, the T14s Gen 4, took its place in February of 2023 and continues to build on this model. Improving the processor power, display quality, and energy efficiency.

Additionally, the top left corner will have a sideways Lenovo badge. Turning over the laptop, the cooling vents would be located at the top left corner of the laptop's underside. The ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 would also have labels on the laptop's underside and a white sticker that identifies the serial number and model number located at the bottom right.
