Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing difficulties with your Shark ION RV754, see the troubleshooting page to diagnose and resolve common problems.

Background

The Shark ION RV754 is an automated vacuum cleaner in the Shark ION 750 series. The RV754 is produced by Shark, a leading manufacturer in the vacuum cleaner industry, alongside their other robot vacuum lineups including the EZ Robot, Matrix, and Power Detect variants. The RV754 is comparable to these other shark lineups, sharing features like compatibility with the SharkClean app and being able to clean both carpet and hardwood floors, but models like the Matrix include newer features such as a self-emptying capability. Note that the RV754 has a manual debris tray that must be emptied by the owner after use.

The Shark ION RV754 uses a tri-brush system with a cleaning path width of 14.99 cm. These brushes include the side brushes, channel brushes, and brush roll that are able to pick up various types of debris. The vacuum is designed to be used on both hardwood and carpet floors and navigates using bumper sensors to avoid collisions. In addition to the bumper sensors, the vacuum has multiple cliff sensors that prevent it from falling off of stairs or other ledges.

The vacuum is Wi-Fi compatible and can be controlled through the SharkClean app. It can also be linked to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for further control convenience. The vacuum operates on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and has a maximum cleaning time of around 2 hours, plenty of time to cover most households. The RV754 also has compatibility with Shark’s BotBoundary strips, which can be placed to restrict rooms or areas that the vacuum can access.

The RV754 was first produced in 2022 and is still in production today, retailing between $124.00 and $299.99. The RV754 has not had any recalls and is widely considered by customers to be a good vacuum.

More information on the vacuum can be found here.

The Shark ION RV754 can be identified by its distinct Shark logo and the 3 buttons above it that say “Dock,” “Clean,” and “Max.”  The Shark ION RV754 is also only available in black or grey colors.
