2002-2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer Blower Motor Resistor Replacement

    • The blower motor resistor is located on the passanger side of the vehicle, underneath the glovebox. It will require removing a panel to access.

    • The access panel underneath the glove box is held to the dash with several 7mm bolts. Remove this and lower the access panel.

    • There will be several wires attached to the panel on the backside. Using a flathead screwdriver, pop these away from the panel, freeing it from the vehicle.

    • The blower motor resistor is a small black rectangle located above where the panel was removed.

    • Remove the connector from the blower motor resistor, using a flathead screwdriver as necessary.

    • Using a 7/32 socket, remove the two bolts holding the blower motor resistor.

    • Place the new blower motor resistor in the same slot, keeping the same orientation as the old one.

    • Plug in the new blower motor resistor.

    • Reassemble the panel by first re-attaching the removed wires, and bolting it back into place.

Conclusion

The blower motor resistor may fail again even with an aftermarket part, so it is always handy to keep one around.
