A bad disc drive can cause an assortment of issues on the computer. It could cause an error when reading CD and DVD, the CD or DVDs may not play audio or video properly, and DVD programs may not install properly.

Remove all of the screws located on the back of the laptop using your Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Unscrew the single screw on the DVD drive with your Phillips #0 screwdriver.
