Removing the front cover allows access to the flash assembly.

What you need

Tools

  1. Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Front Cover, Back Cover: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Remove one 2.25mm screw on the bottom.

  2. Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Front Cover: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Remove two 2.25mm screws on the right side looking from the front.

  3. Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Front Cover: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Remove one 4.7mm screw on the side with the AV output.

  4. Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Front Cover: step 4, image 1 of 1
    • Pull off the back cover.

    • The back cover tends to stick in the top corner (near the mode dial) due to a metal clip. Jiggle the cover side to side as you pull it out.

  5. Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Front Cover, Front Cover: step 5, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the 3.9mm screw in the AV housing on the left side from the front of the camera.

  6. Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Front Cover: step 6, image 1 of 1
    • Remove one 2.25mm screw on the bottom of the camera.

  7. Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Front Cover: step 7, image 1 of 1
    • Pull off the front cover.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
