Introduction
This guide shows the challenges that stop us from properly repairing this type of mixer.
What you need
-
-
Finding and fixing the problem is a cinch!
-
Disassembling the mixer is very destructive!
-
This appliance is a clear example of planned obsolescence since a worn (carbon) brush makes it fit for the trash.
-
If the fault is in the electronic module, clever cutting can make an acceptable repair possible as shown in this ElectroMax video.
-
-
-
-
The speed control knob is easy to disassemble by inserting a knife blade under the graduated circle and prying it up.
-
There are three obstacles to the removal of the motor and electronics module from this mixer:
-
The entire motor block enclosure is firmly secured with adhesive.
-
This motor bearing fastener acts as a circular mount.
-
This plunger system fastener is a second circular mount.
-
I do not see a way around any of these three issues without a certain amount of "destruction".
-
We do need to cut the shell off the mixer, which makes salvaging this part difficult.
