Fixing a Rusted Measuring Tape

What you need

    • Untighten the 9.5 mm Phillips screw with the Phillips screwdriver.

    • Remove the belt clip.

    • Pull the case length off.

    • Untighten the 15.7 mm Phillips screw with the Phillips screwdriver.

    • Open the case with hands.

    • Spray lubricant solution (WD-40) into the spring as indicated.

  6. Fixing a Rusted Measuring Tape: step 6, image 1 of 1
    • Pull tape in and out to ensure all the lubricant is applied to the spring.

    • Apply lubricant in increments (be gentle and apply slowly).
