Introduction
If your HP Stream 8 model 5801 battery needs to be replaced because it has lost the ability to hold a charge, then this is the guide for you.
The battery provides power to the tablet. A faulty battery or battery that isn't able to hold a charge properly needs to be replaced.
Before using this guide, make sure you are using the original HP brand cable and AC/DC adapter. You should also make sure you have the adapter plugged directly into the wall outlet. If you charge your tablet for an hour and still have no charge, continue to follow this guide and replace your battery.

Before you begin, power down your device completely and disconnect from any power source.

Lift up on the small black tab at the connection point to unlock the flex ribbon cable using the tweezers.

Carefully pry up the gray metal piece on the end of the flex ribbon cable using tweezers.

Carefully remove the battery connector from the system board using the tweezers.
