How to Fix a Rattling Door

Go to step 1Sometimes doors don’t fit well into their frames. That’s due to the spring loaded lock not fitting well into the strike plate of the door. This can get annoying when wind blows through the house and rattles the door. The problem probably originates from the metal tab on the strike plate being bent away from the door.
What you need

Remove the strike plate on the door by unscrewing the screws that attach it to the door frame.

Close your door and shake it back and forth to see if it is still loose. Repeat the guide steps as necessary.
