Measure and determine the desired length of jewelry chain that you want to add.
Place a piece of tape to mark where you want to cut.

Cut the extender chain with wire cutters/scissors at the tape marker.

Look at your jump ring. If there is no opening in the jump ring, carefully cut the ring yourself with scissors.

Use jewelry pliers to open the jump ring at one end of the extender chain and one end of the jewelry chain.

Connect one end of the extender chain to the jump rings.
Repeat the process by attaching one end of the jewelry chain to the same jump ring the extender chain is on.
