Introduction

This is a very easy repair to make. The only precautions are the weakness of the materials. The frame is very narrow around the battery slot and may break if not removed delicately. Removing the antenna requires pulling up on nodes attached to circuit components. Be sure to apply pressure near the nodes to ensure that you do not pull up anything but the antenna.

    • Begin the process with the device face down to remove the back cover. Remove the battery cover using your hands to access the inside of the phone.

    • Remove the battery and set it aside.

    • Use Philips PH000 to remove 10 screws located on back of device near the edges.

    • Screw length = 4.5mm (total of 10)

    • Remove cover with small blue prying tool.

    • Take care not to break the slim frame around the battery slot.

    • Using tweezers, pinch the sides of the antenna node and pull straight up.

    • Additional pressure around the node may be required to ensure no other components come off.
