Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5-1570 USB Port Replacement
Introduction
Go to step 1If your Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5-1570 does not recognize when devices are plugged into the USB port then your device may have a faulty USB port. The USB port allows the laptop to connect to other devices such as a wireless mouse or an external hard drive. This guide will show you how to successfully replace the USB port. Step 10 requires you to desolder the faulty USB port and resolder a new USB port on to the motherboard, so make sure to read the How to Solder and Desolder Connections guide. Be sure to completely turn off and unplug your device from any external power before you start.

Using the iFixit nylon tipped tweezers, disconnect the wire that connects the speakers to the motherboard.

Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the three 5 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the motherboard.

Once you've removed the motherboard, desolder the four contact points on the USB connector.

Remove the USB port from the device.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
