Introduction
The Logitech G5 is a sturdy and durable mouse, but after years of use, the scroll wheel can start to get sticky and gradually wear down. Time to replace the mouse wheel!
What you need
-
-
First remove the upper and lower mouse foot with a spudger.
-
Eject the weight magazine before disassembly and set it aside.
-
-
-
-
Grip the mouse by the weight module opening and gently shake and pull the cover with the other hand to detach it.
-
-
-
Remove the scroll wheel bracket screw with a #00 Phillips screwdriver.
-
Take the scroll wheel bracket out of the case.
-
-
-
Place the spudger between the scroll wheel and the scroll wheel bracket and carefully lift out the wheel.
-
Place the new mouse wheel in the holder and make sure it snaps into place.
